One of my favorite rock stations has betrayed the community. There is now only one rock station in the Bay Area. Here's what we are subjected to now. www.live105.com/

No music, but at least you're not subjected to the "rainbow" bullshit.

Most rock stations were just recently reformated and now there's only really two rock stations left that both play the same exact music. Hence my complete disdain for the radio. I'd rather use my iPod car adaptor...

We use to have a good diversity, but since 2001 all the stations have been purchased by mega-media outlets. Every station now similar to anyother in any town. We have six rock stations (one oldies and one "classic", three new rock, and one alternative), three country stations, seven talk (NPR, 3 sport, and 3 Christian). Two black alternative stations.
In a cowtown known for its place in the birth of jazz and blues, not a single station. No classical station either.
SOOOOOOO, I have Live365 and Rhapsody on the computers and XM in the pickup. I can find what I want when I want it without the commericals, but it does cost.

There are no less that SEVEN hispanic stations in my general area. SEVEN!!!! And one rock station! Try living within the broadcast range of overpowered stations in Mexico. We have one "classic rock" station that plays a morning show that doesn't even play music, and then replays some of it at night, and a modern rock station that plays nothing but angry white thrash noise. Thankfully, I can get KLOS in LA most of the time. These hills really suck for reception of even local stations in some places.

The Bay Area used to have great rock stations then in the '70s along came soft rock stations that could gag a maggot on a gut wagon. Now there is garbage. The only way you can get decent rock stations is from the 'net.
