The Democrats would be smart to denounce such ant-religious zealots. While nitwits claim to be witnessing a conservative crackup David Broder does a fairly good analysis of why the Democrats can't win. In order to win they need to find.
For Democrats, a Path Back to Power...a candidate who conveys strength of conviction on national security...a solid marriage, a churchgoing habit and an ability to express sympathetic understanding of those who disagree with his or her personal support of abortion and gay rights.The Democrats all need to start looking for unicorns next. Do you think that zealot you are acquainted with would support such a Democrat, if one could be found? |

I rather doubt it. The "church-going" piece would disqualify him in Paulson's political universe.
BTW, you may have just described Joe Lieberman, who hasn't a chance in hell of ever being nominated.

Oh ya I forgot about him. Funny I'm not saying I would, but he is the only Democrat I might trust. superficially the way he talks drives me crazy.
