In case you haven't heard... The ongoing battle over the cross atop Mt. Soledad has taken another turn this week. Justice Kennedy of the SCOTUS granted a temporary stay of the lower court ruling that would have required the City of San Diego to pay $5,000/day beginning Aug. 1 for every day that the cross remained standing at the Mt. Soledad War Memorial. The battle isn't over and this should not be construed as a victory for supporters, but the cross will remain standing until the SCOTUS makes another move, either hearing the case on appeal after the start of the new session in September, or a lifting of the stay. www.soledadmemorial.com/
