Looks like a great chance for the residents of San Francisco to get to meet the U.S. Navy up close. The Nimitz and Bonhomme Richard, along with some Arleigh Burke class destroyers are making the trip. www.military.com/Content/MoreContent1/1,,fleetweek_Ships,00.html

101, given the current anti-military feelings running loose in SF, how do you think these kids will be welcomed?

Hey BB, Your link is broken, I tried to fix it but to no avail. Oh that sucks, that link had pictures of every ship that was heading down there. I got it through just a quick google search but I'm coming up empty right now. Here's a article on the event from the SF Chronicle. They said the Navy got a pretty good reception and that the folks really enjoyed the Jet show put on by the blue angles. www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/10/08/BAGS3LL5A61.DTL&hw=fleet+week&sn=003&sc=484

101, given the current anti-military feelings running loose in SF, how do you think these kids will be welcomed? It's a mixed bag, actually. Businesses love the increased traffic it brings into the city. However there are moonbat politicians and their supporters who think this type of activity is an obscene glorification of war and the military and should be banned. Some folks bitch about the noise, too. (Deal with it!!!) Kind of like shitting on the hand that protects you.
