He is finally at eternal peace with his heavenly Father. He will be truly missed.

Please accept my condolences on behalf of non-Catholics everywhere.
It occurred to me that when Jesus met him He said "Well done, good and faithful servant", as He ushered Him into glory.
With all the problems in the Episcopal church I have often thought about becoming Catholic - and I may yet.

I'm a former Catholic thinking of becoming Episcopalian.

He is finally at eternal peace with his heavenly Father. He will be truly missed. When I used to be a strict Roman Catholic, this man was my hero. In many ways he still is though and his passing will be extremely hard on all Catholics. He was the greatest pope we've had in a while and I personally will miss his leadership very much. "Jesus answered him, I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.'" Amen.

I'm a former Catholic thinking of becoming Episcopalian. The Episcopal church is a shambles. Don't bother.

I'm happy for Pope John Paul, he has finally got to go home, after all he's done and suffered, but mostly for how much he loved.

The world has lost someone to be admired by people of all religions.
He will be remembered.

I'm a former Catholic thinking of becoming Episcopalian. You can become a Lutheran like yours truly.

Been there, done that. I was a Missouri synod Lutheran for years, and the minister at my church screwed me far more than any mere friend or relative could have.

I'm a former Catholic thinking of becoming Episcopalian. I go for non-denominational... I just like the good word taught and explored -- none of the sacraments, frills, and other BS eye candy ritual crap. I like small churches, founded in missions and teaching the word. Big churches generally make me wanna puke – more business than the actual mission, corruption and infighting – Yuk! Grew up Baptist – Southern Baptist, they got their own line of stupid shit interpretations of the word. Full Gospel, Episcopalians, Lutherans, Catholics. They all have too much pomp, not enough simple roots for me. Stuff the holy water, the head-dress, the caps, garb, and especially all those man-made faulty perceptions of how ones singular personal relationship with the Holy Spirit has in any way shape or form matter if I go to confession, or my daughter wears X amount of length, or dances, or eats this or does this or that. Nah…<br>Denominations and organized denominations, and especially large organized religious denominations loose the focus. I’ll take a small struggling upcoming faithful bunch of believers over that stuff. Hey, but not meaning to offend either...that's just me, if that stuff does it for you -- rock on.

Been there, done that. I was a Missouri synod Lutheran for years, and the minister at my church screwed me far more than any mere friend or relative could have. I'm sad to hear that. I've had nothing but a great experience with the Lutherans at my Church. The last pastor was a great guy. Our new pastor (a 30 yr old guy) is even better. All the people there are great. Take care.

I think I'm keeping my membership in Saint Mattress. Or the Cathedral of the consecrated couch?
