Will the Panzer Pope crack down on the "rebellious" American Church?
If so, will us American Catholics return to the fold, or will the Panzer Pope's actions push us further away?

American Catholics have no choice - these matters (abortion, homosexuality etc) have already been decided. This isn't a fucking democracy. If you don't accept what the Church teaches you can leave.

That just might happen.
Luther did it.

There's a reason why it's called the Catholic Faith and not the Catholic Suggestion.

That just might happen. Luther did it. Luther was a heretic who lived only because Emperor Karl V was distracted in Turkey. If Americans want to leave the RCC they can go right ahead. But they will be incredibly outnumbered - no one is going to leave the Church over such a stupid issue as birth control.

The abuse scandals, our former Hitler Youth Pope (yeah I know, there's extenuating circumstances), etc. I was raised a pretty much traditional Catholic until I left home at the age of 20. Since then, have have questioned not my faith, but all the crap that was shoved down my throat for 13 years of Catholic school. I really do not consider myself as part of the Catholic fold anymore, but I am a strong believer in the trinity.

What makes us Catholics is our belief in the pope as the Vicar of Christ, which was established by Christ Himself at the Last Supper. Furthermore, we believe in the papal infallibility of the pope in matters ex cathedra. Everything else is secondary to those two principles, which make us different from other Christians. I used to be a very strong Traditional Roman Catholic. Even thought of going to TRC Mass as opposed to Roman Catholic Mass. I became more liberal when my political beliefs changed but now I am moving back in a conservative direction. I am sick and fucking tired of these liberals in my Church attacking everything that we believe in. I will die before a woman or homosexual becomes priest. And if the Church EVER endorses abortion - so help me God. I will not be able to contain my anger.

If the Vatican were to disappear tomorrow, I still have my faith. We have no control over anything. We are insignificant in the void of time and space.

Umm....considering that Christ said the gates of Hell shall never prevail against my Church, if the Vatican disappeared tomorrow I would have to question everything in the Bible...
