Can a devote Christian vote Democrat with a good conscience? I mean, the Party champions behaviors that most Christians denounce. A great clip was aired during the last election when the Southern Baptist leader, Dr. Jackson was asked that question as he spoke at a homosexual rally. His answer was textbook by citing Jesus as accepting and going to the sinners.
The thing that the DNC does not understand is not that we support most Republicans because we agree with them. It is that we cannot in good conscience vote in someone who would openly take away our right.
If the DNC gets their people in, then it will become illegal for the 67% of us who are professed Christians to preach against the 4.2% of those who are homosexual. It is not that we oppose the individual, it is the insult of being forced to accept their behavior as normal. These percentage come from several published sources including the Kensey Institue and Christian Family Serivices.
The abortion issue is something that we Christians have mishandled. We have chosen to ignore the truth that our sexual behavior is no different than those who are non-Christian. In fact, studies have shown time and again that Christian families suffer adultery, unwanted pregnancies, and STDs just as often as the non-Churched.
As a medical professional, I am professionally of the opinion that any abortion after the first ten weeks is the "special treatment" of an unwanted life. My spiritual sides tells me that all abortions are "special treatment". I have to wonder how the Jew can support the DNC for their Torah has specific laws against both homosexuality and the "ripping open of pregnant women". The Qur'an also specifically addresses these issue.
The issue is not the right to choose who lives and who dies, the issue is to admit that we are sexual and that sex has consequences.
The day will come when abortion will be an abomination to all. The day will come when procreation will be genetically determined by the government. However, until then I do not see how the two philosophies will ever meet.
With these fundamental statements of faith at the crux, can any true believe vote for a Democrat who supports these platforms?
