After the discussion that ensued over the topic of FF's being sorry or not being sorry, I was reminded about what I saw on the news about the murders of those students in the Quaker community.
I recall the reporters saying that the Quakers forgave the murderer of their children right away.
I believe that was good and only good can come from being able to forgive someone who has hurt you.
What I did not understand was the reports on how the Quakers went to the family of the murderer and told them they forgave them too. um........excuse me. The wife and children didn't need their forgiveness, they didn't do anything that needed forgiving. Coming and telling the murderer's wife they do not hold anything against her, I can understand. Reassuring her would be helpful for her, because some people might visit the sin of one family member on the rest of the family. But 'forgiving' her? No way. I hope the reporters got that wrong.

As you know, reporters have different ways to report the news and lot of times it is not accurate. As for the Quakers, it is their strong believe to forgive those who hurt them. This portion of their believe is a true display what Christianity suppose to be all about. It is not radical, but it is kindness.

last week. I don't recall if it was Dobson or Bott's show, but they interviewed a local pastor who was allowed to work with the community. His description of the body preparation and love and tenderness of the mother as she prepared the body of her 6-yo and the older sister. Of the emotional loving response at the forgiveness exchange.
It was an interview that I shall never forget.
