I ended up seeing Batman yesterday not by choice but only because it was on at the right time. Thumbs up IMHO.
Batmobile - gooooood.
I thought the film to be fairly intelligent given that there was ninjas, car chases, evil doers, sword play, and every other cliche thrown in. But the film never felt cliched. And the throwaway lines were just hysterical. I think they went waaay over the head of most of the audience where I screened it.
The whole little thing about "back up"? That was played perfectly. And nearly invisible. The cops, five million cars, waiting for "back up" (SWAT) was funny enough. Not overplayed either. Then the "what's that noise?" Batman: "Backup." The funniest parts of the film were played so deadpanned that many in the audience, I guess used to laff tracks and obvious clues, just missed it.
They came real close to overplaying the cute kid suffering the weight of the world thing. But didn't cross the line.
It got applause in the theater at the end.

Haven't seen it yet. Worth going to the theater, or wait for the DVD? I imagine my kids will run roughshod over me though to take em though.
I hope there's no lines - I hate lines.

They'll enjoy it, though they might get just a little bored with the hike to the mountain top. Go early. Mama and I didn't spend too much time in line for the 18:30 showing. If you wait for 7pm or later shows you might find yourself hip deep in bored kiddies waiting in line.

I saw Mr & Mrs Smith today and the theater was packed - and that was pretty much a waste of money. Okay. Mildly amusing. Waaay too long and where does it say that you can make a film without a plot for the love of Mike?
For Batman, the theater was maybe a little over half full - but far better. Do the matinee because the price of tickets sucks. I expect word of mouth on this one. No lines in Ballston for it.
Tim Burton is a good filmmaker, no question. Plenty of action for the ADD, thumbs up for Christian Bale as eye candy, really good script for protein for the mind. And Holy Hot Car - the Batmobile.

Don't get me wrong, even for the 6:30 show the theater was all but full, I guess we hit the line at just the right time. I gotta get me one of those! ;D Take care.

Yea the movie was awesome - I actually really liked the character of Scarecrow. I hope he's in the next movie (I heard they're making 4 new movies with the same main cast).
The scene where the Scarecrow's horse was breathing fire was awesome ;D ;D

I think the Scarecrow character was played great except I always thought he was a bit of a loner looney villian. I did like the part where he got shocked and rode away screming like a litte girl . Oh well, Rash Agul (SP) more than made up for a great villian.
