A movie has been made out of Anthony Swoffords book, Jarhead.
The book is about Swofford time as a member of a Marine Corps STA (Survelance Target and Acquisition, almost the same thing as a Scout Sniper unit I guess) unit in the Gulf War.I read the book about half a year ago and thought it was good.
Before Swofford joins the Marine Corps he is extremely patriotic and wants nothing more then to enlist.But as he delves further into the life in the Corps he begins to hate it.The book looked into the life of Swofford in his 6 months in the Desert.
Its some what of an anti-war book, I hope the movie doesnt turn out the same.But even Swofford said in his book that no matter how anti-war a movie is Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, and Sailors will always see it as pro-war.
