Not bad at all though I find the "Christian" selling of it ludicrous. The one most obvious example - rising from the dead - is "explained" by the silliest example of legalese - can't be dead if killed on this rock while in a state of innocence for the declared purpose of the execution yadda yadda yadda - even for a children's book.
I do agree with the witch's goal of trying to kill those children - Off with their heads!
I'd never thought I'd say this - but the best part is the beaver. Or rather beavers. Bad me. Bad!

CS Lewis always had the God in mind when he wrote the Chronicles of Narnia. The symbolism was there from the start. Leave it to me not to have caught it when I first read the books though.........about 12 years ago. Thomas, it is really geared for children, but I've always enjoyed the heroism and fantasy setting of the stories.

The family is all together for this Christmass and that is not likely to happen again for some time to come and will put this on the list of must do things together with the midgets.

Is it like a cheesy kids movie with horrible acting? Is there much action?Any decapitations?Blood? Most of this must be in a movie before I'll watch it. But quality - no decapitation. Just getting frozen - so we all know that when the good guys win, all are unfrozen. So no blood. Four kids - all rotten in their own way. What I really like about it - the one kid betrays the good guys but is "redeemed" - persuaded of the error of his ways and eventually fights against the bad guys. Something simply not done in US films. Anyone who betrays the cause must die. Just put on the red jersey and accept your fate. The underlying Christian theme is there - but given the current crop of righteous among the culturally challenged claimants to the "true" word, the presence of a witch and Greek mythological characters is sure to offend those folks who find Halloween a heresy. It's a gentle film - as I said, find a kid and enjoy a guilty pleasure.
