And what a waste of money it was!
The movie seemed to last an eternity with me closely watching my watch to see how much longer it would last. Most of the movie was dragged out and added to the 3 plus hour movie.
The acting was actually pretty good but maybe it was just the premise of the movie that bothered me..
There were excruciating long scenes of the giant ape and his woman lover having touching moments. These seemed almost to disturb me and I quickly wished them to be over.
The action, when it was there was pretty good but these scenes were few and far in between. The special FX was done very well, something to expect from Peter Jackson. The island natives scared the hell out of me.
Alot of people in the theatre I went to were actually laughing at how stupid some of the writing was (me included).I went with my mother (See theres nothin wrong with that I hope...) and we left early because it was incredibly boring, we were following by about 6-10 more people from our side of the theatre.
If you go see a movie do not see Kong because it may bore you to death. If I were to describe the movie in one word it would be....beastiality.
Anyways have a nice day!

And with the price of tickets - I wasn't paying attention once and paid $9.50. That was it for me. But even matinees cost $6.50 around here. It's just not worth it.
Thanks for the review. I suspected as much.

Never did like the story to begin with. When I saw that Jackson chose to spend his talents on it, I was very disappointed. After seeing the previews I decided it was one movie I was not going to see. Sorry Thomas.

I just saw it as well.
The action sceanes were pretty cool and the movie was alright for most of the island part, but those friggin long silent touching moments that seemed to be hitting every character was getting on my nerves.
I'll say the best part had to be the T-Rex fight.

I, too, had to question where Jackson was going with the bigass ape/normal-sized woman love scenes.
While the whole thing was technically very, very well-done, did anybody else find all the special effects action scenes too long and drawn out, even to the point of tediousness? Almost as if the filmakers knew that computer-produced fights amongst huge animals was all they had to keep the audience interested?
