I think it was President Bush who told us to not worry about bin Laden.

I wonder if he's talking about OIF or OEF here. In the case of OIF, that's kind of unfair because Iraq had nothing to do with 11 September 2001. I fully support OIF but not because of the attacks on 11 September.

The song came out in '03 just before OIF.

While Iraq may have had no direct ties to 9/11 the spirit of the song was about going after targets before a attack like 9/11 could or would occur.

Can you show me where Bush ever said or even implied that Saddam had anything to do with 9-11?

I never mentioned President Bush saying that Iraq had anything to do with 11 September 2001.

I was simply saying that the song writer shouldn't criticize people if they oppose OIF on the basis that it had nothing to do with 11 September 2001.

I think we all agree that Iraq had nothing to do with 11 September 2001. The song writer sounded like he was saying those who didn't support OIF had already forgotten about 11 September. The two have nothing to do with each other.

Yes and No.

Iraq may not have had any direct involvement with 9/11, but I think we can all agree that without 9/11 their is no war in Iraq. Bush even stated that it was a post 9/11 world which made simply containing Saddam not enough.

The song writter is not trying to say that Iraq was directly involved, he was trying to remind people what the results of inaction are.
