As soon as I saw that THC was doing a series on space exploration, I became very excited. Ever since I've been a young boy I've been fascinated with space and its enormity. www.history.com/minisite.do?content_type=mini_home&mini_id=54036The series starts tomorrow at 9 and the first two episodes are about the Sun and Mars. From what I can tell, it appears to be a series about the universe (obviously) and the chances of life originating on other planets. I'll definitely be watching every episode.

I've always wanted to be an astronaut but there is really no chance of that ever happening. My Greek history teacher last year got me really interested in Classical Archeology though. We watched a show about archeology and how these guys discovered a shipwreck from around 800 BC. For 2800 years no human laid eyes upon the ship until these guys found it. To me, that's what history is all about - its a direct connection to the past and you can almost experience what it was like to live back then.
That's the part of history that I really love.

No chance at being a astronaut? Hey if that crazy broad can do why can't you? I can definitly agree that archeology is fun, but it's a bit too tedious and I don't have the patience required.

An interesting first episode - I learned a lot about the sun that I had never known before. Particularly about sun storms and just how dangerous they can be to this planet.
I'll definitely be tuning in for next week's episode about Mars.
