Now I'm pissed off. I finished the game. I thought I was something like half way through and the credits started rolling! What the fuck is up with that? Look, I know that a game this awesome must take a HUGE AMOUNT of programming, but still. I could have easily finished the game in one day if I had wanted to. That seems a bit cheap to me. For $60, we ought to get more than eight or nine hours of play time. I think I will play it again on the hardest setting. I may do some of the arcade stuff. Something this cool should last longer than it does. Yeah! i beat it on the first day. but the online is thoroughly kick ass

I am at the Ferris Wheel on the second to the hardest setting (whatever that is).
I keep dying.
I planted the Claymores around the cars and where the Tangos come in from to begin with.
I have killed the dog, thrown all my grenades and have wasted a shit load of the enemy.
Here's my question: Where do you set up?
I've been next to McMillan. Maybe I should try somewhere else?
On the regular setting I had no trouble getting through this. On the second to the hardest, I am getting my ass kicked.

I may need to restart the chapter.
The game saved itself at a point where I have few options left.
As the scene begins, I am next to McMillan and the enemy choppers are about to start dropping troops.
I have the pistol and the sniper rifle.
The sniper rifle is damn near ineffective because every time I show my face over the berm it gets shot - the fuck - off. I can't even get close to getting a shot off.
The pistol doesn't put enough lead out.
I will try a few more times and then just restart the whole map. I forgot to plant the C4. All I planted were the claymores.
I forgot all about the C4.
This game is just too good. This is a very intense section of the game on the harder settings.

I just had an idea that I haven't tried yet.
I am going to restart the chapter and set all the claymores around the exit to the pool area. When I set McMillan down I get a fresh batch of claymores.
So, since Mc Millan never dies, I am going to put ALL OF THEM AROUND ME. Screw his side. I am going to put several rows of claymores around where I will be. That should help protect me until the chopper arrives.
I made it ONCE until the chopper got there, but I couldn't get McMillan to the damn thing before they were out of gas.
This part is pretty damn tough on the harder setting (second to hardest).

i've only played on normal except for the first two missions. Did you ditch the pistol?
When in doubt put as much lead down range as possible.

I restarted the map, put all my claymores around the pool area. Then I carried McMillan to the spot and then put ten claymores around me. I forgot to ditch the pistol. The game saved itself at a point PAST where I can pick up an AK, so I am stuck. However, I can last until the helicopter arrives, but getting to it with no help is going to be a real bitch. I am throwing C4 and detonating it, returning all grenades, throwing all my grenades, killing everything in sight and they JUST KEEP COMING. Then, about the time the chopper arrives, I get overrun. This is a bitch.

I finally did it.
I probably played that scene around the Ferris Wheel a hundred times. Maybe more.
The problem is that the game saves itself from time to time. If it saves itself in a spot PAST where you fucked something up, you will NEVER be able to recover. You have to go back and restart the entire level to recover.
I did that a couple of times.
In the end, I did what that guy did in the youtube video.
I started with 300 rounds of AK-47 ammo and ended with 6. I had six rounds left when I got MacMillan to the chopper.
There is no telling how many gooks I killed. They seem to respawn. They just keep coming.
I may go back and play the whole thing again on the hardest level.
It's just too much fun to quit.

i got an urge to play "Just Cause" the other day so I've been doing that. Right now my box is disconnected I am stuck fighting my way through the missile silos. This really is one hell of a battle. As amazing as all this is, you know there are people who have been through fights this intense for real. AND, not just a few have done it - a shit load have. As I fight my way through a flurry of gun-fire and grenades going off left and right (people dying every second), it astounds me to think of the guys who have really done this. The sounds in this game are amazing and the visual effects they came up with for the "flash-bang" grenades are really, really good. I was looking at some gamer posts. Some people actually made comments like, "The game is really good, but it could be improved on." When I read crap like that I think one of two things is going on. Either: 1) The guy is really a programmer for a competing game, or, 2) The guy is one of those people WHO WILL NEVER BE SATISFIED WITH ANYTHING. The game is fucking awesome, period.

Well, I completed the game on Hardened.
I am debating whether to do it on Veteran because the youtube video clips I have seen demo-ing certain sections of the game on veteran look IDENTICAL to what I just did on hardened.
I'm talking the same number of bad guys, the same everything.
I am not sure there is much difference between Hardened and Veteran.
Anyway, I am starting to finally burn out on this particular game so I may start something else.
This game is well worth the money.

That's what really got me, that people have been there and worse. there are always those guys that will find something to bitch about. My only complaint was length.
