My point is that I think that the people who say "illegals are doing the jobs Americans won't do" are the Americans who won't do the jobs.

Gotta wonder: Who did them before the illegals came?

Gotta wonder: Who did them before the illegals came? I did, you did, and apparently a lot of us here did.

Mrs. Remey and I moved into a new house we customed built as our retirement home, not that I going to retire or anything like that. Mrs Remey needed a home on one level. In Oklahoma 99.99% of the construction workers are Mexicans. Spanish is used in all communication. The contracts hire sub contractors for everything. There was one crew who built and hung the shudders, and another crew who stained them. Go figure?! None of the construction workers were under paid. The secret is that the Mexicans work hard all day long without complaining about the heat. Here a roofer makes $22.50 per hour, and they are good at both working and reliable as far as showing up every work day for a 10 hour shift.

Hey Remey -
I did about 2 years (total) down there in OKC (mostly south side - Moore & Norman). Kinda nice down there, in a way. Unfortunately, the long trip was when OSU was Nat'l Champs, so, most weekends were hell.
Heard a great joke on the radio though: What's the difference between a University of Texas cheerleader & an old, worn-out shoe?
In an emergency, at least you can eat the shoe....
What's up with THAT?
