It's a shame when somebody like HER makes more sense than others on the Conservative side.

Bush offered a sprinkling of good ideas over a bunch of bad ones in a disingenuous immigration speech that will do nothing more than continue and extend the huge flood of illegals to America.
It is just flat out dishonest and unworkable public policy. And Democrats are offering nothing better. Our only hope is for a coalition of Democratic and Republican hard liners to stop this surrender of our sovereignty and new illegal alien amnesty and open door policy.
The Main Points --
1) Strengthening the Border:
Pluses: Adding 6,000 border guards, beefing up fences at major crossing points, adding high tech equipment, ending the catch and release program for non-Mexican illegals.
Minuses: It will take over two years to train the new guards -- we built an army to win WII in far less time. We won't be building a completely walled border! Bush says he won't "militarize" the border, so large open gaps will be left and illegals will have plenty of places to cross.
Big Minuses: 6,000 new Guards two years down the road and a few new Walls in a few cities shows a total lack of commitment or resources to make the border secure. Thesse are only small measures, and we need huge ones down on the border.
Plus: National Guard to Be Deployed to the Borders.
Big Minus: They won't be allowed to patrol, guard, or apprehend illegals.You read that right. Instead they'll be answering phones and talking on radios and putting up a few towers and barb wire fences. This is nothing more than an insulting public relations move.
2) Punishing Illegal Employers.
Small Plus: Bush is going to issue a tamper proof ID card to Alien Workers that employers can use to verify legality.
Big Minuses: Illegal Employers can still use the counterfeit fake citizenship ID's illegals already have, so this will do next to NOTHING to crack down on illegal employment. Bush said Nothing about cracking down on illegal employers, instead excusing them with a wave of his hand, saying it was too tough for them to verify legal status, as if these guys didn't know exactly what they were doing. An absolute capitulation to illegal employers, total. Today, Bush cracks down on literally three or four employers a year. A joke.
3) The Bush "Guest Worker" Program.
Big Minus: There is no plus to this at all. Anyone who thinks guest workers are going to go back to Mexico needs to be hospitalized. And we already have a work visa program, if Mr. Bush bothered to check. This is nothing more than a wide open door to hundreds of thousands of new and illegal immigrants. Atrocious.
4) The "Path to Legalization" Program.
Pluses: We are going to have to do somehting with the 20 million illegal immigrants in our country, so at somepoint down the road we'll need a legalization program. But this is not the program one we need.
Big Minuses: This is nothing more than an amnesty program and a joke. How can they verify how long they have lived here or the taxes they owe? Ridiculous. Any illegal doofus will claim to have been here for five years and earned $10,000, meaning he owes next to nothing in taxes. It is a blanket amnesty. And it will lead to a new rush of illegals seeking to come in and get in on the program. All they have to do is pay a nominal fine of $2,000, pretty dang cheap for an American citizenship.
Overall Analysis: A Complete capitulation to both the Illegal Alien and Business lobbies. This program, if enacted as Bush wants, will do next to nothing to slow the flood of illegals, indeed, it wil spur a new wave of illegals overstaying the Guest Worker program. And since employers have few worries about being penalized at all under Bush, they can keep offering the cheap jobs that keep the illegals coming. Almost all of the penalties Bush claims to put in place will be underfunded and unenforceable. It's clear by the long lag time in border guard training, that few real resources and no national emergency action will occur to actually stregthen and harden the border properly.
It's just another immigration bill Con Job, just like all the others, maybe even worse.

Nope. When an otherwise liberal kook makes a good argument in favor of defending America's immigration laws, I think it's those on the Right who should stop and listen, then rethink their position.

Of course he is. He's hoping he can convince you to give up the fight right now. It makes it easier for the illegals if we don't fight back and enforce our own laws.
Incidentally, that was the whole point of May 01 (which failed miserably I might add).
When we draw a hard line, many illegals will lose their nerve (not all, but a bunch). They're illegal and they know it. That's not a comfy place to be when the heat gets turned up.
Cameron has no case to make. He simply uses words commonly known to initiate "white guilt" like "Hitler," "Storm Trooper," "Racist," and "Police State."
I remain unaffected by that crap anymore, but some people are affected by that. That's the reason the illegals in the videos I posted last week used those terms. They are trying to elicit the reaction they want out of us.

There is NO NEED to compromise with them on anything! They're criminals! They hold no hammer over us. They have no leverage to use against us! They are nothing but an illegal BLACK MARKET for Labor that we proved on May 01 that we can EASILY DO WITHOUT!
The only thing that happened was they made the seriousness of the problem impossible to ignore. I thank them for that.
