I don't mean to shit on Falcon and Battleborn here, I only bring up their responses to make a point...
Both told me that it was OK to continue down the financial path they were on because THEY LIKE THEIR JOBS.
I want to point out that THAT IS A FALSE ANSWER.
There isn't a "CHOICE" to be made between doing the smart thing and doing stupid things with money that has anything to do with liking your job.
Let me rephrase that: Doing stupid things with money and then RATIONALIZING those choices by saying "It's OK because I like my job" is ridiculous.
That line of thinking is completely false. The two things have NOTHING TO DO with one another!
Who said you have to quit your job when you become financially free?
The fact is that YOU WILL, but you don't HAVE TO.
Saying to yourself, "I don't want to be financially independent because I love my job" makes no sense whatsoever.
Stop and think about that.
What's the REAL REASON you choose a path of financial mediocrity?
Let's get down to the REAL reason.
Is it FEAR? Fear of failure, maybe? Fear of the unknown? Fear of taking on a challenge where you really aren't sure of the outcome?
Being BRAVE ENOUGH to toss out your comfort zone takes "nad." there is no doubt about that.
Linus carries around that stinky blanket for a reason. It stinks, but he won't let it go. He doesn't have the balls to toss the fucker.
Your limiting ideas about money and success are no different than Linus' blanket. They STINK and you make every effort to RATIONALIZE them to yourself.
Rationalize to YOURSELF all you want. I am not buying a word of it.
I've been where you are. I can see right through your words because I had to be honest with MYSELF and your words used to be MY words.
I tossed my stinky blanket.
