Hey all. I had this week off from work and I decided on the fly to head up to New York City for a visit. I had two different things that I was going to try and do. The first was to attempt to get a ticket for Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Unfortunatly for me I was a little late in getting there, but I found out that the NBC Studio's building allowed people to ride up the elevator to the very top to walk around an observation deck overlooking the city. From there I was able to take some nice pics that I thought you all might enjoy. As you can tell from the pics, I had a pretty busy, but enjoyable time in NYC. I didn't get to see Conan, but I did get to enjoy watching the Mets Vs. Giants where I also had the good luck of picking a day when Johan Santana was pitching for the Mets. He was deadly accurate the entire time he was out there. -BB, DD, Zach

Hey BB, nice pics. Living the majority of my life in AK, and most of my vaca's have been west coast, it is so hard for me to fathom a city like New York, so big and full of concrete and people, how on earth can people stand living in that much commotion? I get annoyed when it takes longer than two minutes to get to the grocery store...

Funny thing jfree is that I knew folks, when I lived in Connecticut, who sold their houses to move back into NYC because it was too quite for them?

I get annoyed when it takes longer than two minutes to get to the grocery store... The commotion is created because there are many more jobs in Manhattan than the population of the island of Manhattan. People from Staten Island, Brooklyn, The Bronx, Queens County, West Chester County, Western Long Island, Connecticut, New Jersey et al commute into the city every workday. This adds to the number of people on the streets and subways in the daylight hours.
