www.theshootist.net/2009/03/dod-ends-sale-of-expended-military.htmlFrom now on, remanufacturers of military brass will not be able to buy surplus brass from DOD--actually from Government Liquidators, llc.--the corporation that sells surplus materials for the U.S. government. At least, not in any form recognizable as once-fired brass ammunition.
Now all brass ammunition will have to be shredded, and sold as scrap. This will end up taking millions of rounds off the market. This will increase the price of all ammo. While the letters don't spell it out, I would wager next weeks pay this came down as a directive from someone at the Whitehouse.

Sounds like a good bet to me.

No matter how you look at it, people will find a way to get what they need. More you forbit, you are giving a black market open door. Prohibition did not work. They are barking on the wrong tree. With "holy" borders" good ole Speedy Gonzales will supply all your needs plus some.

Amazingly, the destruction order has been rescinded.
Thank you, NRA.

Took all of two days from what I understand of people going apeshit ballistic for them to realize it was completely unacceptable. I first heard about it on an XM show called Gun Talk. Good show, and if you have an XM, I reccomend you listen. To bad it's only on once a week.
But stop to consider, if they are willing to try something so bold, so quick, what else will they be willing to try in smaller incriments?
