U.S. Government Used Taxpayer Funds to Buy, Sell Weapons During 'Fast and Furious,' Documents Show Not only did U.S. officials approve, allow and assist in the sale of more than 2,000 guns to the Sinaloa cartel -- the federal government used taxpayer money to buy semi-automatic weapons, sold them to criminals and then watched as the guns disappeared. This disclosure, revealed in documents obtained by Fox News, could undermine the Department of Justice's previous defense that Operation Fast and Furious was a "botched" operation where agents simply "lost track" of weapons as they were transferred from one illegal buyer to another. Instead, it heightens the culpability of the federal government as Mexico, according to sources, has opened two criminal investigations into the operation that flooded their country with illegal weapons. Point is that the tax payers dollars were wasted on stupid operation which resulted in death of US border agent plus many people in Mexico. Another one of his "Great Investments".

The same thing happened under Reagan, so until you condemn Reagan for using taxpayer dollars to fund the Iran/Contra Affair, I'm just gonna consider this partisan belly-aching.

Regan, situation was different. Majority of people were against hostage rescue missions. They were affraid we would end up the same way as failed Iran hostage rescue. Reagan found another way to get hostages out. This meant to pay the devil with spare aircraft parts and money came through what eventually became contra scandal.

We paid for the weapons he sold to Iran to fund the Contras. Both acts were illegal. Try again.

If Reagan raided Lebanon and took out terrorists, libs would been upset and would cry Vietnam all over again. Country just did not want to get involved. Fast and Furrious was a different deal. So, you can try again.

So, you can try again. Once again, your partisan politics have clouded your judgement. Iran/Contra was illegal. There is no excuse. There is no spinning. It was wrong and that is that. Reagan effed up and committed an illegal act, deal with it. American taxpayers paid for the arms sold to our enemy, Iran. The money made off of those arms sales went to the Contras so they could fight the Sandinistas. The American taxpayer didn't benefit one bit from this illegal act that was authorized by your hero, Ronald Reagan. That is no different than Obama authorizing the sale of arms to Mexican drug cartels for whatever reason. Both acts are illegal. Both acts are wrong. P.S. Why do you insist on mentioning Lebanon? Iran/Contra involved Iran and Nicaraguan Contras, not Lebanon. Hence, it was called the Iran/Contra Affair.

We reimbursed Israel and got paid for their purchases with the money they got from the Iranians. Lebanon is in the mix because that's where the American hostages were taken & held.

LOL . . . see if you can figure it out: I don't know what is more sad, your lame attempt at trying to be clever or the fact that you are so rabidly partisan. "The pot calling the kettle black" doesn't apply here. I'm not partisan. I would have to support a political party or be a member of a political party to be partisan. I neither support nor am I a member of a political party. Try again.
