Here's something that had me shaking my head and laughing audibly when I first looked at it yesterday.
This writer, Jan Burner, contributes opinion pieces that are shared at a site called "Unexplained Mysteries", a forum for discussion of archeological, anthropological, modern scientific and space discoveries and mysteries that are interesting to me, as well as of paranormal topics for its additional following of magical thinkers.

This piece, entitled, "The Ultimate Social Networking Website" brought to mind endless science fiction movies portraying societies totally in thrall to malevolent dictatorships controlling their every thought and action.
I also found it instructive on the subject of the depth of enthrallment by intellectual lightweights of the younger generations and even members of our own to the "magic" of the internet's potential for instilling a spirit of worldwide "cyber-togetherness".
Like the "togetherness" ad campaign inflicted by Madison Avenue on 50's and 60's families that led to an ongoing divorce and family dysfunction rate that continues to defy belief.
Bottom line, reading this drivel reinforced my happiness at being able to find a campfire like the Outpost somewhat at a distance from a facebooky mindset that appears to me to be on the way to becoming the ultimate hippie wet dream.

The ultimate social networking website will be called simply “Be Here Now”. And the point will be that hundreds of thousands, (perhaps millions) of people will be able to log on to the same website at the same time. But on this website there will be no sharing of photos or messages or gossip. It will simply be a place where you can go and “KNOW” that there are hundreds of thousands of other conscious entities focused on that same spot at that exact same moment!
No matter where you are located on the planet, if you are feeling low, depressed or sad and lonely you can go to this website and focus your attention on the graphic that will be displayed and you will feel better. You will feel the mental energy from the thousands and thousands of other humans focused with INTENTION on that spot at that instant! And if you are feeling good and centered, then you can show your love of humankind by going to that same website and focusing your positive intention on that exact spot.
