8-)Well, boys and girls. The spouse and I are going to do it. We are going to a Minute Men Project meeting next week that will be close to our home. If they can shut down 20 something miles of the Arizona border and prevent even one illegal from coming in, I guess it is time for me to lend a hand in my home state. I will let you know what goes on. Protect and defend. Isn't that what the Constitution say?

As a Texas I already know the attibutes of sun screen, light weight long sleeved shirts and Wranglers. Not to mention boots to protect against snakes.
Yeah, there are lots of bad guys crossing into Texas. They haul their drugs over here and don't think they aren't packing, because they are. It will be interesting to see how many Texas law enforcement people are there. I know a lot of them are fed up with the current situation. Also, contrary to what the libs think, our Tejanos are fed up as well. Tejanos, whose families migrated legally, but never were educated due to being migrant workers, can't get jobs because they are being undercut by illegals. I'm not interested in getting hurt. But I am interested in waiting, watching and reporting to the Border Patrol. The problem in south Texas has been that many of the Hispanics who have migrated there come from parents who were illegal and they are strong proponents of the Reconquistas so they provide safe houses for the illegals. I don't understand that. If Mexico was so bad that you came here illegally to have a better life, why would you want Texas to become part of Mexico again?
It is predicted that in just 15 years Texas will be 78% Hispanic with half of them (39%) being illegals. That means that 50% of our population will be picking up the social services tab for the rest of the 50%. Our border hospitals are going broke. The school districts are over burdened with educating illegals. The property taxes to support the schools in my area are about $3,000.00 per $100,000.00 home value with around 75% of that designated just for the schools. We have congressmen like Ruben Hinojosa who would give away my house if he thought it would benefits illegals. And this clown has a voice in Washington. We were on a deer lease in south Texas. When we weren't there, we just left the door open, with canned goods and a can opener on the table. If you don't, the illegals will trash the place looking for something to eat. They will cut up mattresses to wrap around them when it gets cold at night. The ranchers are constantly finding dead cattle, part of them hacked off and ashes where the illegals have built fires to cook the meat. Three, four cows a month can really put a dent into a ranchers income. It has got to stop. It is well and good for the "feel good" liberals from the north to bitch that the illegals "just want a better life for themselves and their families" but their states are not picking up the tab. I had one guy in Arkansas, who didn't like the fact that the illegals were taking all the jobs in the chicken plants, ask me why we didn't keep them here in Texas where they belonged. A friend of mine who now lives here in central Texas, told me that when she lived in south Texas she had a hard time renewing her driver's license because she did not speak Spanish. That is just flat out wrong. My church has a fair amount of Hispanics attend. Many do not speak English, so we started a "English as a second language" class so they could learn. NO ONE CAME. And what really bothers me is the fact that the number of OTM's (other than Mexican) crossing our border is hush-hushed by Washington. I want someone from Washington to tell me why an Arabic man would pay a cayote $15,000.00 to sneak him into the U.S. It damn sure isn't so he can get a $5.25/hour job at 7-11.
