to his squadron soon. He is about to complete his degree and once he makes E-6 (AC1) will qualify for LDO as a NFO. His best friend from boot six years ago just qualified for OCS-NFO of the new AE-18 "fast mover" electronic. Nick is hoping to have all the quals and school completed by Jan to make his application.
Anyway, he just got back from an advanced combat AC school for fighter approach and has been goo-goo over the F-22. I had to laugh because he reminded me of you a few months ago.
GO Navy!
To sad, the Jarheads will have to settle for the F-18 and F-8A castoffs. ;D

My guess is that he will agree with me That's really awesome to hear though. I haven't even SEEN a Raptor yet although I did see a prototype JSF in DC a couple months ago. They've got one at the Air and Space Museum in Virginia. If there is any way that your son could get us some pictures (without getting fired that is) of the Raptor that'd be great ;D

It ain't going to a Navy Squadron. Those are getting the F/A-18 E/F to replace the F-14. The Jarheads are bringing back the F-8 Crusader? Are they THAT hard up for equipment? They will be getting their own version of the F-35 JSF (sometime during this century ... maybe ) as well as the V-22 tiltrotor (if they can keep it in the air )

He loves the FA/18 says the last EA-6 few off his screen a few months back. The USMC are flying F16 18s and the VT-FA8. He was assigned to the 11th Marine RECON at North Island and did combat AC when they were deployed. But he is a puke pure and simple. I have to laugh because he is about to get some 4 year college degree but has laid the ground work for Uncle Sam to send him to Embry for an astrophysics degree. This guy was our goof and now he is seeking an astrophysics degree. Anyway, I don't understand the new LDO program, but if he makes AC1 this cycle and completes the degree by December, he has a good chance to receive the LDO and will seek the NRO program. He really loves the 18 and wants to be the backseat in the new EA-18. Cadet, he agrees with me that someone will shoot down a raptor, but believes that it will be King of the Sky. to his squadron soon.
