Absolutely loved it.
Gritty and violent as hell. Unlike the 90's movie this version of megacity is completely crime ridden even with the Judges on the street. Early on in the film Dredd makes reference to the Judges only being able to respond to 6% of daily crimes, highlighting the high crime rates. The film features numerous action scenes set to heavy metal music and slow motion graphics.
In a word, this film does what you like other "remakes" (although this is not a remake at all) do, it doesn't try to be like the old film at all and is still good enough to be it's own movie.
If you're looking for a good action flick, check it out.
