"No one cares about the Palestinians," I wrote in this space two years ago [1], and since then the world has stopped funding them. As a result, the Palestine Authority is collapsing, comments Khalid Elgindy, a former PA adviser, on the website of the Council on Foreign Relations, about "the wave of Palestinian protests that swept through the Israeli-occupied West Bank this month [and] ... virtually paralyzed life in Palestinian cities, with scenes reminiscent of the first intifada". The PA can't pay salaries because international donors, including the Gulf States, haven't sent promised aid: www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/NI29Ak01.html

I've been echoing what Elgindy has said for years too. The only importance that the Palestinian have, is to be used as cannon fodder to attack Israel. If Israel did not exist, Palestine would end up partitioned between the neighbors. Look at the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. They have been there for 60 years and still don't have Lebanese citizenship. Most of those people are Lebanese.
I think that the Palestinian as a short-lived race are basically extinct in an evolutionary sense. The only hope they have would be to take charge of their own fate and sue for reconciliation with Israel. Become full, loyal Israelis. That may not stop the prejudice, but that will put them within the society where they can follow Gandhi style non violent protests for equality which would see Jews stand with the Palestinians. Then we can do away with the two-state solution and that will bring more prosperity to all Israelis.

Don't think that Israel would ever place themselves in a position where they could be beaten by demographics. Yet, on the other part you are pretty much spot on.
