I was watching one of those nature shows when I suddenly recalled a friend nearly stepping on a small dark gray cobra while on perimeter patrol one evening. It scared both of us. Then I recalled a friend who was a medic in-country in 1966-67 saying that he treated three snake bites and one died.
Here is one source for US casualties in Iraq. It is surprising how the Left has even turned these terrible numbers into an implication.

25% of the KIA are from non-hostile actions (accidents, murder, suicides, illnesses, and undetermined). Over half of the wounded were returned to service within 72 hours.
But no information concerning snake bite. One report stated that no deaths had occurred from 1994-2001.
