I normally don't follow MLB, but I'm a bit of a Tigers fan. I admit I'm a bit surprised they swept the Yankees in the playoffs. My Mom is the real baseball fan and follows the Tigers. Bet she's a happy camper today.

Good for them. This past offseason definitely showed they were making a push for the series with how much they spent to bring in Prince Fielder. That couple with Miguel Cabrerra's triple crown, the first in nearly 50 years, and Verlanders otherworldly dominance makes them very impressive. Though, they did kinda underwelm in the season and only made the playoffs when they made a late season push.
I also gotta wonder if the A's coulda knocked them out if Coco Crisp doesn't blow catching that flyball in Game two the the ALDS. The A's couldn't get past Verlander, but were doing enough against he other starters to win.
Oh well, shoulda, coulda, woulda, didn't.
Good luck to them, right now it looks like it will be them and the Cards in the World Series, very good match up IMHO.

I would be content with a Cards or Tigers victory, but would prefer the Giants winning another championship.

Tigers vs. Cardinals is a rivalry that goes back to the '30s.
The last time they met, the Cards hammered them in 5.
If it's Tigers vs. Giants, I'll be positioned against th local team just like 1984 when I lived in San Diego.
If I'd covered all the bets people wanted, I could have taken an extended vacation to the island of my choice.
In any case, they're ridinig high after skunking the much despised Yankees.
Gotta go with my Tiggers all the way.
