Did you see the piece on the Military Channel on Thursday evening: "An Ocean Away"
Man, when those old mud marines met that old NVA and then he showed the two sisters of the marine who had been left behind where he had buried the marine in 1968. I had goosebumps, but when they all hugged and then showed the honor guard funeral for the remains back in Dallas and the old NVA and his brother placing incense on their bothers' graves, I lost it.
Sometimes, just sometimes, I would like to go back to DaNang, but I cannot imagine what your "field pukes" had to endure. It is good thing this back surgery has me sleeping on the couch. There will be nightmares tonight!
You know those pictures I posted last year from Chuck about our company in DaNang really haunted me.
here is the snibit from the Military Channel about the show: "Two sisters lost a brother to enemy fire in 1968. Nearly four decades later his remains are finally recovered. Needing answers, they seek out surviving Marines and together journey to Vietnam to climb the mountain that changed all of their lives"

I saw the trailer for that one but completely zoned it.
That type of film usually has a lot of healing quality to it. I remember one of several films on the return to Iwo Jma, there were two old men, one Japanese and one American having a conversation.
The American tells the Japanese, "You know, I still have an Arisaka rifle bullet in my leg that I got right there," pointing to a spot.
The Japanese replies, "Yes, I know. I was my bullet. My apologies." and bowed deeply.
Bet there wasn't a dry eye within 50 meters of that one.
Be Well, Tittus.
