I watched it on TV yesterday. It sucked, not tuff enuf and too much catering to the liberals. Bush is a RINO. I used to like him, but not anymore.
I understand the catering position, it good for politicians, but these politicians owe their allegience to America and Americans first. Not to the Mexicans, El Salvadorians or Chinese, they answer to us and are suppose to represent our will.
It can and will happen. The reason it has gone on for so long is because politicians don't want our laws enforced, cops don't do anything when they see illegals sneaking in, they have the whole it's not my job attitude. Customers haven't been snitching on their contractors, but I suspect that has and will change, haven't you noticed the marked increase in round-ups?
You and many others seem to think they are starving and that is why they come here. No they are not starving they are just poor, they don't have tv, big deal, and they can't buy the latest fashions, this isn't an Oliver Twist thing, it's not Robin Hood, it's about someone just making ends meet but wanting more and stopping at nothing, including depressing our middle class in order to do it. They are a net drain, see center for immigration studies, they will straighten it out for you, I posted it on "Your gonna hate me" thread.

I already said I heard the speech. He is being a weinie. Regardless of how you feel the majority of AMERICAN CITIZENS are absolutely against anything that smacks of amnesty. Polls are showing this, left and right don't want no more of this crap, why because they are being directly affected by loss in wages. If grapes or strawberries rise more than 5cents I'd be shocked. Remember a large portion comes from outside the US.
I understand completely what you are trying to say, but I think you are on the wrong side of this issue. You are being compassionate to a fault, to where we are endangering the livelihood of our country men. Look up the report I told you about, Amnesty will actually increase the costs by 118% while only gaining 66% more in tax and ss income. I want what is best for MY country and the citizens here. If the Mexicans spent half as much time cleaning their government out, it would be a fucking paradise by now.

If you can’t keep contraband out of a prison due to market forces what makes you think you can seal our southern border without recognizing we need the labor they provide as much as they need the jobs we provide? It is not realistic and it's not going to work. For crying out loud this is basic stuff that conservatives should have a working understanding of. The vast majority of these "illegals" work for small business not large corporations. The only way you could enforce the law is to turn the country into a police state and that is not going to happen, so all you are going to do is increase the size of the underground economy, and not fix the problem. We have real enemies to worry about and they don't happen to be some dirt poor peasant trying to do whatever he can to put food on the table. Our real enemies must be laughing at our stupidity. I'm going to tell you, I'm not suggesting anyone here is a racist, but an awful lot of what I hear some conservatives say is starting to sound a lot like racism to me.
Oh ya and those who say they are going to punish the Republicans by staying home this fall. Great idea, it's not like I didn't see this coming I did and said so in this very form. Please. Most Conservatives are pissed off at Bush. They have no problem with the House Republicans, who are standing tough on this issue, thank God.
It's the liberal Republicans in the Senate who piss many Conservatives off.
BTW: Who knows how Conservatives will react later this year. But a Democratic Senate would likely be a good thing for a Republican Presidential candidate in 2008.
However, it's to early to say what's going to occur with elections later this year.

America is jungle, there is lots to eat, bananas do grow on trees...hello, and every illegal I have seen gettin caught tryin to sneak in has been heavy. They want a better life? So fix your own damn country and stop stealin from mine.
I need my house painted and fence fixed, you can be damn sure no illegals will be workin at my house. If I even suspect they are I will ask for ID and make no bones about it, I aint shy.
