You may swim like a fish...but awash in the big open sea at sea state 7 is a different matter.
Can you say...puke?
That's one reason I stayed in the sky....course there is that turbulence factor

Hey there deirdress, good to have more members, especially female ones, there aren't that many of us. I was never at the Hubcap, seen the others here mention it alot. Nothing like being surrounded by men who have to work out all the time, hehehehe. I swear it is a requirment for Navy Seals to be hot in order to enlist. You lucky girl, all those men, and so little time, bwahahahaha, okay, thats it, I hate you already, you've got all those men to choose from(just kiddin).

Heya Sailor! HEll yeah the NAVY! Rofl the army is cheap, would only give me there version of BIG bonus.. their version=40k....ROFl poor lil army... no im jk. and Air Force? i live and breathe Air Force... ugh. No navy all teh way, i love swimming and the water too much. Stationed at Great Lakes for training soon. Haven't been through Boot yet? Kiddo, I don't know if you are from that area but trust me, January at Great Mistakes is absolutely miserable COLD! I had to put in 4 years on staff there after making First Class. Cold and snow out the wazzoo. Boots doing the Manual of Arms with snow shovels. Not to worry. They'll keep you so busy you won't have time to feel the cold and will warm you up with a week of fire fighting training about half way through. With your attitude you'll do fine.

That's for damn sure. The only time I have ever had frostbite was at Great Mistakes. Were you an instructor, Sailor? Wait - you weren't a CC on the bootcamp side were you? Not a Company Commander but I did work the Boot Camp side. Because of my training as a security manager I was 1 of 2 CTA's screening boots for ratings requiring TS or higher clearances. CT, IS, RM and GM (the ones working with the weapons that grow mushroom clouds.) I was the junior guy, the senior was a CTAC. We split things so he primarily got the lighter load (CT and IS candidates, 1 guy could handle) and I got everybody else and wound up managing 2 PNs and a YN who assisted me. This actually worked out pretty well as we were able to back each other up as necessary and I got to add Office Manager and (because of the GM's) PRP Certifying Official to my annual evals. PRPCO at the time was usually a LCDR or higher anywhere else in the Navy. The only enlisteds to get that certification were the 6 CTs working the 3 Bootcamps. We put in nearly as many hours as the CC's did, 12 to 16 per day during the heavy summer months. Going to sea in CARON was almost like a vacation in comparison and I saw my family nearly as much.
