Wow nice house Merc.
On my street, that would easily go for seven digits.

Right, living on a gravel road, in the county (with an good conservative county board) instead of a city helps keep property taxes down too. Thank you, btw.

FF, I'm talking about mario, he lives in a million dollar house in NY and says he's middle class. Middle class, does not live like Mario lives, so when he (and others like him) complains about people who work three jobs and calls them "lazy looking for handouts" it irks me. Look, you idiot, I consider myself Middle-class. I work, as I'm sure you do. Unless you're one of these libs on welfare. Most homes are pretty expensive here. My parents bought this house in 1980. Of course it wasn't a million dollars at the time. Home prices have risen dramatically here in the last several years. I'm complaining about people who work three jobs?? You must be smoking some serious shit, because I never complained about people who work. In fact, I respect those who work hard in life. And I respect even more those who work more than one job. Get a clue for once in your life, kevin.

$400,000 will by you a very nice 3500 sf home in a nice neighborhood. We have seen an influx of both East and West coasties over the last few years who find equal jobs for slightly less income but a huge increase in disposable income. Many of these people just buy up the land and build just for the investment. The end result is that most middle incomes are being driven out of the market. A sister-in-law just built a 4200 sf two story with a three car and a two car garage, full basement, four huge bedrooms with private baths, and a chief's dream kitchen for ~$422,000. Neither her nor her husband have college degrees, he did inherit some. But... We don't have the night life, don't have the championship major league teams, don't have the mass transit, but most don't blow their entire salary on housing and utilities. And we don't have the income. Same thing here, Titus. Although, with Lee building our own home, all of us doing the labor, we've built a home that would sell on the coast for an exhorbitant amount. We've got about 6,000 sq ft. Merc, my grandfather's company builds homes on the outskirts of Pittsburgh. You should see some of these homes -- they're essentially mansions. And he builds them for $175,000-200,000. My parents are actually considering selling the house here in NY one day and moving to Pittsburgh, where you can buy an even larger house for much cheaper than what it costs to live in NYC or some of these other cities.

Mario, I love looking at houses, floor plans, I'd love to see some pics of your grandfather's homes. The cost of living in NY is outrageous, I suspect it keeps many many people from living there. Too bad, it's such a great place.

Look, you idiot Ooooh good one! I consider myself Middle-class. I work, as I'm sure you do. Unless you're one of these libs on welfare. Oh, I know you consider yourself Middle-class, its just that...you're NOT middle class. When I work, as most americans, we get paid, its not an "internship" Now, I know you believe that the majority of americans own million dollar houses in in NY or wherever, but that's just not the case. We can't go live with mommy and daddy while they pay for us to go to college etc. Oh, one more thing, the conservative states have HIGH welfare cases... imagine that. I'm complaining about people who work three jobs?? You must be smoking some serious shit, because I never complained about people who work. In fact, I respect those who work hard in life. And I respect even more those who work more than one job. Not true, you generalize like crazy. You and others constantly say things like "well if they just worked they wouldn't be so poor" or "the poor in this country is poor because they're lazy and want to rely on the government" therefore, yes, you are talking out of your ass and vicariously insulting hard working people who actually work while you post about how lazy they are online.

You're going to tell me that I'm rich when you know nothing about me? lol "We can't go live with mommy and daddy while they pay for us to go to college" Don't be jealous. Haha; I did an internship because the college requires that I do one in order to graduate. Moron. And I do work. What? I insulted nobody, you halfwit. If you work hard in life, I respect you. Period. Now fuck off.

Too bad, it's such a great place. Merc, I don't have any pictures. Everytime I'm up there, we drive by this area. I actually saw Mario Lemieux's house (once a big hockey player). The houses are really nice and cheap compared to NY. Oh yeah, taxes, insurance, home prices, etc., all drive people out of the state. You should see what some of the small apartments in Manhattan cost! Take care, Merc.

I worked with a fellow who installed hard wood floors. We did an apartment on 7th ave it was smaller than the apartment I was renting on the island and kind of dumpy at that. It was going for 7, 000 a month Strat you don't know anything about Mario. So why don't you stop giving him a hard time, and work on your reply to me?

The parents pay half my tuition. I pay the other half. That was their rule. And as I said, I work at a job where, believe it or not, they pay me..lol. Yes, I interned for a Republican consulting firm. Such internships are unpaid. 2- Rich preppie kid from NY?? LOL! You're such a joke, kevin. I work. In fact, for the last 4 months, I was working at my job, doing the internship, and going to the campus. You have no clue what you're talking about. But what else is new. I'm just another Middle-class American! Why are you so full of hate? I know you don't wash dishes. Tell us what you do.

Look, I don't know WHY you are fighting so hard to portray yourself as middle class, you should be grateful you're wealthy and not try to pretend to be anything you're not.

LOL...a psychologist in the making. I'm not wealthy. I do alright. My parents are upper middle-class. Ever hear of that term before? Work hard in life and you'll be there one day too. Honestly, I can see you being a speaker on "Airhead America" one day.

Mario, I suppose in your neighborhood your are "in the middle" but nationwide, you are rich, not "upper middle class" but rich. Most people, don't live like you do. We don't live in million dollar houses (figure in a decade of rising house prices) most of us don't live in half a million dollar houses. If you live in a half a million dollar house, you're upper middle class.

Hey! This is the ISLAM thread in the SPIRITUALITY BOARD.
If you want to argue about who's rich and who's not, why not start another thread in an appropriate venue?
