Thank you, One!!!
Hey, you have any ideas where you want to move?[/quote]
My name is Chuck, BTW.
Yeah, depending on how much $$% comes when from the sale of my wife's aunt's Levittown house we're currently fixing up ( a nightmare -this place was a dump), another house owned by same aunt in Brookhaven, also under renovation, her mother's house - she may move with us or spend half the time with us, half with wofe's sister, and land in Bridgehampton, we may either have to start modestly or we can go for it.
Looking at San Amtonio -- google it and see what $300K will get you - then look at what $1M will get you - a palace!
Or Prescott, AZ, Santa Fe, NM, back to Colorado - Boulder (if we win the trifeca) or San Diego (requires the $1M plus option.

So you know how expensive it is there. I live in Bayside, Queens, and the cost of living here has risen significantly the last few years, especially with all of these people coming in and increasing the demand for housing. But yeah, San Antonio sounds nice. I know that in Pennsylvania, what we pay here for houses, will buy mansions there. So my parents are seriously considering selling one day and moving to Pittsburgh. I personally LOVE NYC, so I doubt I'll ever leave. Tale care, buddy.

My wife's cousins sold their house in Sag Harbor - where her father, another aunt and uncle were born - for $2M (!!!) and bought @ 60 acres in rural PA and a great house.
I want to get back out west , ideally in a dry climate, although I think San Antonio is hit and humid in the summer but we'll probably travel a lot.
These Muslims are going nuts about the rapes in Europe.

Then again, winter in NYC can be fun. Yeah, some of these states have so much land, that's its dirt cheap when compared to land here in NYC or in California. As for those mooslims, just know that Yarta and MsPoetic are the same person. Some dude sick in the head. He needs to get a life.

oneif, are you originally from the west? What part?
If your just looking for some cheap land I could suggest East Nevada or some land in Utah. My father owns a three bedroom home over there on a 2.5 acre plot of land. He's been having trouble renting it for less than $300 a month.

BB - I was actually born here and after college lived in Washington D.C., Boulder, then San Diego area, then the Caribbean - now back here for several years but Ms. One and I really want to get back out west -- the sun, dryer climate, wide open spaces, etc. Some of the places we're considering are as expensive to buy a house as here Boulder - (I have 4 kids in Littleton) and San Diego, but property taxes, utilities, heating, etc are all cheaper, as is eating out and stuff/ I really miss relentlessly sunny weather.
