What the heck happened to the Episcopal Church? I'm dumb struck by this, do they not understand this is the very definition of sacrilege? Just what is the is their reasoning if any? Profoundly disturbing

Well, I have known for a long time that there were clowns running the Episcopal church.

Uhh... are you sure that's not a scene from a Monty Python skit??? That'd be my first choice of possibilities. Maybe not Monty, but certainly a movie of some kind. This is a bit outlandish to be a simple publicity stunt. I can't fathom they'd whore their church out with a publicity stunt like this. Renting it for a day to make a movie is another matter. I checked snopes, but couldn't find anything.

That's the thing I'm getting at: Eucharist, while a happy thing, is not supposed to be a joke. I watch some of that video, and my skin absolutely crawls at their mockery of God Himself. Some of the people on that blog mention that the whole thing came off as demonic to them, and I have to agree. I was looking on the Catholic Encyclopedia at newadvent.org, at their definitions of "sacrilege," etc. I didn't really have the time to look long, but here's the link to the website if anybody wants to poke around in there: www.newadvent.org/cathen/13321a.htmNot sure where I heard this, and I could'nt find anything on the New Advent site to corroborate this, but isn't a mockery of the Eucharist or other religious rites supposed to be a key element in Satanism? Now, I know that these wealthy, liberal Episcopalians didn't set out intentionally to worship the Devil. But what they're doing (and what they're leading other people into) is extremely disrespectful.

When I get a chance gonna e-mail this around it needs to be denounced it is SACRILEGE there is nothing more sinful than what this people are doing. It's the kind of thing that could get you burned at the stake in the middle ages. No halfway literate Christian could condone such a thing.

I for one think it's a fake.
The quality of the pictures provided isn't very convincing.

Weren't the Episcopals the ones who ordained some openly gay minister or something like that?
I don't follow the Episcopals, but I seem to remember something about something about that... kinda - sorta...

Until I read the second half of your sentence (and I read the first half twice to make sure I had it right before continuing on), I thought you were referring to a lesbian.
I consider it an Episcopal issue, but I WAS very surprised to hear they did that.

It's why I no longer go to church. The chuch split wide open, and the left wing leadership was badmouthing the orthodoxy and I personally got a letter from my parish (along with the other orthodox members) inviting me to leave.
That's tolerance, isn't it? At that point I hadn't even taken a loudmouthed stand on anything but I was a victim of guilt by association.
I will probably turn Catholic after all this, if I ever go back to church at all. At this point it's not looking good. These days I am happy to get up on Sunday mornings and listen to the Mass on EWTN.

These days I am happy to get up on Sunday mornings and listen to the Mass on EWTN. There has been a HUGE fight here in ABQ in the Calvary Chapel. (Skip Heitzig) It is sooooo nasty that not even"I" can believe it. There has been an ENORMOUS POWER STRUGGLE amongst the, whatever they're called, "Elders" or whatever. Embezzlement, corruption... www.dukecityfix.com/index.php?itemid=1553You name it. AND, that's just the shit that is public! Anyway, I can remember my mom saying the same basic thing I think you are implying here Far Rider... I guess the real point is that you don't have to march through the streets screaming and making a big spectacle about how much of a "believer" you are. That's what it seems to me the episcopals are doing. Who wants to be a part of that??? Not me, that's for sure. That seems to make it more about the pissing contest and fight for power of mortal men. Why bother to waste your time with that. Isn't that "changing the subject?" AND, I must say... That has a WHOLE LOT to do with why I never really got interested in the subject.
