All Hail Red Sox Nation!!!!!! Now 2.5 games back of the Yankees in the AL East!! Texas beat them twice over the weekend and Toronto beat them today!!! ;D Woooooo hoooooooooooo!!! ;D Arethusa I'm only a Red Sox fan by default. I'm not a citizen of Red Sox Nation but I'm an avid supporter. All Spankees haters are welcome in Red Sox Nation the same way all Jews are welcome in Israel. Besides, you, like me, live in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area, so what's with the Spankees crap? You should be rooting for the Fightin's and not the Spankees.

Besides, you, like me, live in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area, so what's with the Spankees crap? You should be rooting for the Fightin's and not the Spankees. ***** Born in NY, raised there before and after my father's stint in the Air Force, and the genetic recipient of ancestral Yankees' fandom. It's in my blood, so to speak and never rejected because of those 27 WS titles and the fact that, in my lifetime, at least, no MLB team has ever come close to achieving that level competitively. I love a winner. And I'm real good at picking them too. ;D For that reason and because I live here, I'm also a Phillies fan, at least in recent years - up to the the time they win the NLCS and even afterward - providing they're not facing the Yankees in the World Series. ;D In any event, with the Yankees and Beantown having the second and third best records in MLB after the Phillies in the NL and Tampa Bay so far back in the AL Wild Card, looks like the Bronx Bombers and Plunktown will be playing in the ALDS when the regular season is over. I'm not a Pennsylvanian, nor a Philadelphian. I came here to take a job and remained because I love the job and the work, not because I love the area. Enjoy your Tuesday and the week ahead! Arethusa

TC - your Rays are indeed making a run for the Wild Card as predicted by the manager of the Zeroes after TB took that series last week, 2-1. Your team then took two outta three from Texas to win that series. The Rays then SWEPT the Red Sox and are now only 3.5 games back of Boston in the AL WC race. Here's a link to today's YF's thread summary at HFTM with links to all the sites for game recaps, stats and such that should now be bringing a huge smile to your face! Good luck in stinging the Orioles tonight through Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m., EDT, and for further victories when you meet the Red Sox again this Thursday through the weekend! Link for post at bottom of page 108 of the thread at #1080: helpfindthemissing.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6242&page=108Woo hoo! Murph

I lived in NY state for only a few of my years, but love for my Yankees - win or lose - has always remained deep in my heart. Sorry to see that TC's Rays bit the dust - Texas will not be an easy foe in the ALCS either for the Yanks or the Tigers to overcome. Have a great Wednesday and good luck tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m., EDT, when we'll see who's got the better team in baseball, you or me. ;D Until same time next year, that is. Muffin

I'm a Blue Jays and a Phillies fan. ***** You're in good company. I root for the Phillies because I live in the area and they are in the National League. It got pretty interesting though when the Phils faced the Yankees and lost in the 2009 World Series. Talk about walking on eggshells! ;D With one friend at work - an avid Phillies fan - I had the discomfiting experience of receiving a snarly, " oh, really?" after suggesting that a 2010 rematch between their and my favorite team would be nice. Didn't happen because Texas and San Francisco stepped in and topped us. But, it sure is fun to wonder whether or not there will be such a rematch in 2011 even though it would also mean walking on eggshells again at work. Go YANKEES! And gooooooo Phillies! Enjoy your evening, Arethusa

Congratulations on beating the Yanks in the ALDS, 101. And good luck against Texas. Thanks, Muffin. You are far more gracious than I would have been. A great game and a great series between two well-matched opponents (and age-old rivals). On to Texas!

I'm a long time fan of Detroit's Skipper, Jim Leyland, and happy for the beleaguered people of Michigan. Don't forget, I'm a Phillies' fan too. So, we're back to where we started if the Phils trump the Cards and beat Milwaukee or the Snakes and the Tigers get past Texas! ;D Enjoy your weekend and Saturday's ALCS game. Muffin

I'm hoping for another Tiger/Cardinal rematch.
Gotta keep those great rivalries alive.

Can Motor City bring down Beer Town in four games? Is there anyone in this joint from Wisconsin? Good luck messing with Texas in the ALCS starting tonight! Muffin
