Whoever is playing the Yankees! ***** Aha!! Somehow, I'm not surprised you said this...again. Ha ha ha. TC's Rays are playing them in Yankee Stadium this weekend, so I guess I've got double indemnity cheering to overcome. Muffin

What can I say about the Rays........ Except that they suck! They are 9 1/2 games out, and the only real bright spot this year has been their babyfaced pitcher Jeremy Hellickson. Since the Ray's season is a train wreck, and not unexpectedly so after losing so many players, I'd almost like to see the Yankees win and catch the Red Sox........ Almost!

Since the Ray's season is a train wreck, and not unexpectedly so after losing so many players, I'd almost like to see the Yankees win and catch the Red Sox........ Almost! ***** Don't bail on the Rays yet, TC. There's still a lot of ball left to play and the race to the finish has yet to heat up. Spent a little time looking at some stats this morning and here's what I found. The Rays made roadkill of CC Sabathia last night and won the game 5-1. This was their 5th win in a row after sweeping the Royals in four games. Although the Rays are 9.5 games back of Boston in the AL East, they are 7.5 games back of the Yankees in the WC behind the LAA with 7 and the Tribe way behind at 11.5 games back of the Yankees. So, by my lights and estimation, the Rays are still very much in it. If you doubt me, click your ruby slippers three times while saying, "Rockies, 2008". Ha ha ha. The year Colorado won their last 16 games in a row and made it into the post-season. (I think that was the right year, hopefully). Today at 4:10 our time, your Jeremy Hellickson is facing Phil Hughes who is regaining his speed and competence after suffering from a dead arm at the beginning of the season. And tomorrow at 1:05 p.m. on our side of the country, Jamie Shields is facing Freddy Garcia - who's been winning every start. Good luck with all that and don't give up yet. It's easy to name the contenders right now, and nobody is excluding TB from that list that I know of. Enjoy your weekend! Murph

Great game yesterday, if I do say so myself. ;D Did you see the interviews with David Price and Jeremy Hellickson on FOX? Fun stuff - especially with Price throwing a handful of those seeds they're constantly munching on field and off - with perfect aim at Jamie Shields, I believe. Here's what I said about the game in the YF's thread today at post #1035 on page 104 - taking perfect aim at the Jorge Posada ongoing soap opera both on and off the field. helpfindthemissing.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6242&page=104Enjoy your Sunday and the rubber match at 1 this afternoon! And may the best team win. Murph

Great game yesterday, if I do say so myself. ;D Murph LOL! Yankees win 9-2 ...... I guess you would! I quit watching after the 5th inning. I obviously gave Hellickson the kiss of death by telling you about how good he's been pitching. Shields is hot and cold, we'll see what happens. Have a great day, Murph!

Have a great day, Murph! ***** Not to worry, TC, this was "Great Pitchers' Meltdown Week" in the major leagues. CC, Zambrano, Jered Weaver and then Hellickson all took shellackings from opposing hitters. Wonder how far the contagion will spread? Verlander, Halladay, Lincecum...? The mind races! Jeremy's in great company there and may it continue! And how nice to hear his dad had played for the Yankees and was there at the game celebrating his 50th birthday too. Thanks for answering, "see" ya' at the game shortly, and you have a great day too! Murph

Thanks for that boost for the Yankees yesterday in beating Beantown in the double-header.
We're now .5 games up on them on the AL East.
Now who would you prefer to win the division if it's not you?
Plunktown or NYC?
Good luck beating the Red Sox again today! ;D

Almost! ***** Hey, TC - I remembered this post of yours when hearing that David Price had 14 K's in Tampa Bay's 12-0 blanking of the Blue Jays on Sunday. Here's the link for ESPN's recap of the occasion so you'll have the memory of it here: sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=310828114Also, here's the link to the latest about your team in the YF's thread at HFTM if you haven't had the time (or the inclination LOL) to look in on them lately: helpfindthemissing.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6242&page=107If it's any consolation, the Yankees are facing Boston, Grizz's favorite team from tonight through Thursday, without A-Rod or Jeter, while the Rays get to mess with Texas. ;D Enjoy your Tuesday and Have a great week! And go Yankees! And um, Go Rays!!! Murph
