The Cards finished off the Brewers in six games last night and it's going to be a Texas v. St. Louis WS this year. Game 1 of the 2011 World Series is Wednesday night, 10/19, at a time TBA on FOX. Starting pitchers will be C.J. Wilson for the Rangers and Chris Carpenter for the Cards. Poor Zack Greinke, who tried to diss Carpenter for being a toughie on the hill, now has his car packed and is heading home with dreams of better things same time next year. I'll be posting the rest of the WS schedule later and some coverage of the series when it gets underway on the YF's thread at HFTM. For those interested, here's a link to the page in the thread at HFTM where today's coverage of the MLB post season starts - I've also been re-posting the thread in the Sports forum at THC as well and a link to that page follows. helpfindthemissing.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6242&page=117auth.history.com/reply/512218/t/10-16-11-ALCS-Gm-6-TX-15-DET-5-TX-advances--WS-NLCS-Gm-6-Car.html#reply-512218Enjoy your Monday, the week ahead and the World Series if you're watching it ;D, Arethusa

I probably won't be following the Series closely since the Tiggers bombed out.
Congrats to Texas.

Did anyone watch Game 6 of the WS last night - the last three innings from the 9th to the 11th? I thought I was watching a Hollywood baseball movie because only there do you see those kinds of endings! The Rangers were up 7-5 in the middle of the 9th, then boom, David Freese drives in the two tying runs. Rangers get 2 more runs in the 10th, and boom, in come two more Cardinals' runs. Game tied 9-9 into the 11th and out goes Cruz for Texas all gimped up and Robinson had to pull their best pitcher-batter Feldman in order to sub an outfielder for Cruz. Next thing you knew, Rangers' pitching faltered and the Cards had won 10-9. Kinda fun really, seeing this series go the full 7 games. Who should win? Texas would have its first World Series Championship if they win tonight and the Cards, who beat the Tigers in 2006, would have their 11th. I'm going for the underdog. Texas in 9 innings. 2-1, against Chris Carpenter. ;D Very much looking forward to seeing how it turns out - even though, with the Yankees gone - I really hadn't expected to. Arethusa

Great news today - CC Sabathia and Yankees' Central have worked out their differences. CC said he wanted more time with the team and that it wasn't about getting more silly money. He's one I believe when he talks like that. So, I'm very happy he's sticking around in the Bronx. Here's the link to coverage of the deal from foxsports.com: msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/CC-Sabathia-New-York-Yankees-deal-103111A great Tuesday to all, no matter who your favorite team might be. ;D Arethusa
