Because of (1) the illegal immigration problem and (2) the necessity of sustaining military personnel, I propose that we offer an amnesty program in which illegal aliens can serve 1 - 2 years in the military and then upon discharge, receive citizenship. All illegals detained and refuse this option would be dumped on the otherside of the border. No questions asked. And certainly no time wasted. All illegals guilty in the commission of a crime against another person (i.e. rape, murder, etc) would not be eligible for this program.

That won't help that much, they'll still keep hopping over, now they'll be doing it for more then one reason

Yes - they'll "hop over". The more of them that do so, the more that will be inducted into the service. And the more that do that, the less Americans that will be killed overseas.
Aren't you adverse to Americans being killed?

Sorry, won't work, if they are illegals we can't FORCE them into service. So if they hop over like they are doing today we won't get ANY new recruits. They don't care about being citizens, they care about getting into the country.

Sure we can force them. They are illegal, in our country, and subject to our laws.
Now the object isn't just getting into the country. That would be a means toward a higher goal - say getting a job. Which is what the military offers. And a future.

Yeah, that's exactly what I want: Having to serve along side a bunch of non-English speaking, dirty, possibly criminal individuals in my military. When you actually enter the real military you'll understand.
This plan is rediculous. You pretty much admit that yuo think these peolple should be used as cannon fodder for your reckless crusade you want America to embarck on. Also, it's pretty obvious that with the completely stupid requirements the military holds for officer qualification, most of these illegals won't qualify for a commission. So, in effect what you are doing is showing your complete disdain for enlisted personnel, and you're not even and officer yet. Shit, you're actually less that a fuckin boot!

Has nothing to do with "disdain" for enlisted personnel or anyone else.
It has everything to do with finding enough personnel to fulfill America's worldwide commitments and simultaneously challenging the immigration problem.
Now - these immigrants could very well be formed into special battalions who's lack of quality would regulate them to guard duty at various installations, locations, and borders. Staff them with bilingual officers - or simply extend their commitments to include learning English. Or both.
It's not about making these people 'cannon fodder' either. It's about enfranchising several million people, giving them responsibilities and duties, and building their loyalty and confidence in America.

You really think we'll have a ten million man Mexican army fighting for us?

First - not all illegals are Mexican. That's a gross public misperception.
Second - criminals and of course those on terrorist watch lists would not be eligible.
Third - only 1 of 11 soldiers actually takes part in combat. The remainder are service and support.
So no, I do not think we'll have a "ten million man Mexican army" fighting for us.
