By the way FF, you can have all the friends you want, join the ROTC, and keep your complete independance and still be Roman Catholic.

FF, Do you know what the major reason is that people leave the Catholic Church? It is usually (almost always) of a sexual nature. Our Church makes no bones about what is licit and illicit when it comes to sex. The Catholic that wants to leave is doing so because there is something he wants and the Church is telling him "no". This can also be applied to Martin Luther. After leaving the Church he married. (A nun). Cataracts First off, I'm still a virgin. I did not leave over sexual vices. I didn't leave over any vices. I left because I bow to no one - I serve nothing but the Constitution.

Then FF, may I present you with your new god................The Constitution. It wasn't meant to be a god, but some people do worship it.
By the way, do you know what Lucifer's word's were before he fell from grace? "I will not serve".

I do feel sorry for Lucifer - I see a lot in common between me and him. Except, of course, for the whole tempting people to do evil part.
But I do sympathize with his struggle against God and his desire not to be a slave.
The difference between my "god" and yours is that you can actually see mine. The Constitution is actually real and means something.

I have never heard of anyone feeling sorry for Lucifer. This is a first! My guess is that the only reason he doesn't kill you now is that you are being protected. With that protection gone, you're a little pussy cat surrounded by a pack of jackels.
I have run across quite a few atheists and for that reason have studied them in depth. If you don't mind I am going to tell you what an atheist is and why they believe in what they do. Please don't take this as a personal vendetta against you. I don't know you nor have I ever met you. I certainly have nothing against you, but I would like to use you as the prime mover of my posts. Cataracts John Milton wrote an entire book about sympathy for Lucifer - I am certainly not the first one to feel bad for him. Lucifer certainly had more compassion for mankind than god did. At least Lucifer never committed genocide against mankind. Feel free to tell me what you think an Atheist is but it would take me several years of posts for you to fully understand me. But I'll do my best - I'll reply to your other thread when I have time.

lol, AP, that was a good one.
We all go thru phases of belief and disbelief, we have to come to terms w/our beliefs on our own, FF is still young, he is still idealistic, give the world a chance to jade him.
Although I admit I have never ever heard of anyone who had sympathy for the devil because they believe God wants him to be a slave, this is a first. Ive read Milton, he's an unmidigated moron, so is Mick Jagger. God gives you the ultimate freedom FF, freewill, he creates you w/freewill and the ability to reason for yourself, that's not slavery.

God gave you the same free will that Saddam Hussein gave you. Why, of course you have the ability to choose for a different candidate in Iraqi elections - but should you do so, you die. Of course you have the ability to break god's law but should you do so, he smites you and sends you to a place of eternal torture. Neither is an example of free will or freedom in general. Both are forms of slavery that use power to keep the people in line. I see no difference between Saddam Hussein and god in this case.

Why not quote the Superman ideology, it was real effective in Germany. Saddam gives you no freedoms, what have you been reading? I bet you gave your parents hell, they brought you into the world loved you and provided for you and punished you when you did wrong, is that slavery too?

Saddam gives you no freedoms, what have you been reading? Actually, you were free to vote for someone other than Saddam. But if you did, you disappeared in the middle of the night and ended up dead. Thankfully my parents don't have the same morality of god. Otherwise I might have been smited a long time ago for somtehing as stupid as using god's name in vain. The difference between god and my parents (other than the fact that my parents actually exist) is that when my parents and I have a disagreement, they don't kill me.

Satan was the greatest, most beautiful, and most gifted of all the angels. He fell from grace through pride. If he was smarter and more talented than all the angels, can you, even remotely, consider how much smarter he is than any man. Satan was (is) extremely jealous of man. He went to the Garden of Eden to destroy man. He would kill everyone of us right now if he had the chance. And after all this, he is still a creature that God created. Satan is probably the root cause of genocide on our Earth. Cataracts
